Looking for toys for Kaden can be very confusing! Who does he like? Let's see...he loves Godzilla! But there are only so many Godzilla toys you can buy! He got $40.00 from his Mom and she said that's all he can spend. So we go to the store..he skates and I trail behind him.....and there he is at the Godzilla area. There are about 4 shelves of Godzilla toys. The top row consists of Rodan, Space Godzilla and the old Godzilla. The next row is Mothra and more Godzillas. After that are boxes of Godzilla toys. I soon learn that the boxed ones are the cheaper ones and the others are from Japan, and are more expensive.
Then there comes a young guy who is really into Godzilla and he and Kaden start talking Godzilla movies! (Kaden's 8 and the helper was probably about 21.) Can this be happening? Tokyo S.O.S, Godzilla 2000, Motha vs Godzilla and more. It's about one half hour later. Okay, "I choose Mothra" and some guy with 3 heads (I forget his name off hand). So we walk around for a few minutes and he decides to get a package of bugs that has moths in it and use it for Mothra instead of buying the real Mothra for $14.95. At this point we are just trying to spend the $40.00 and not go over--following Mom's directions. The 3 headed guy is $24.95. So together it's $39.90 without tax. (With tax about $45.00 and some odd cents.) Then he says "No--It has to be the real Mothra" So he takes the other package back and picks up Mothra again. "Well," I say "let's just see if we can get a discount and buy both of them for under $40.00."
We get to the register and I mention to the cashier that Kaden only has $40.00 and is there any way she could discount the toys to be under $40.00? "Hold on", she says, then pulls out a 15% discount coupon out of the drawer, and says "That will be $36.54." Talk about a lucky day! See how nice people can be if you just ask?
